The historic Bluecoat building has been restored and converted into a centre for charities and voluntary organisations in the heart of Chester. Together, the Bluecoat-based organisations provide advice, support, assistance and training to people across the Cheshire area.
The Bluecoat building includes office space (available to rent by charities or voluntary organisations), and meeting rooms which can be hired by any individual or organisation.
The Bluecoat is owned by, and home to, The Chester Bluecoat Charity which works to improve the lives of people in need throughout the city.
Other organisations based at the Bluecoat include Citizens Advice Cheshire West, Cheshire West Voluntary Action, Work Zone, Access2Learn, Vision Support, Cheshire & Warrington Carers Trust, Chester Talking Newspaper, Chester Aid to the Homeless and the West Cheshire Autism Hub.

Meeting Room Hire
Whether you’re planning a small meeting or a large conference we have the ideal space for you.
We have two meetings rooms – our Conference Room and Oak Room – which organisations and businesses from any sector can hire for a half day or full day.
If you would like to discuss further, please telephone 01244 403277 or email: email@example.com
The larger of the two meeting rooms is located on the Bluecoat’s first floor. It is fully accessible with spectacular views of the Welsh hills.
The room is perfect for your conference or event, with a range of layout options for you to choose from. It can accommodate up to 20 people (boardroom style), 30 (cabaret), 50 (theatre) or 70 (informal mix of seating and standing). But if you’re looking for an alternative layout, please just ask.
Additional features include a projector and screen (please note: we do not provide laptops; if you are bringing a laptop in to connect to the projector it must be able to connect to a HDMI cable), blackout blinds, flipchart and pens, microphone and lectern.
You’ll also have the use of a break-out room with an instant hot water machine. A lift provides access from the ground floor.
Prices start from £60 per half day session.
The Oak Room
Our beautiful, oak-panelled room is ideal for smaller meetings. Located on the ground floor, it is fully accessible and offers extra features including flipchart and pens.
The Oak Room can accommodate up to 12 people (boardroom style) or 20 (informal). Prices start from £35 per half-day session.
