The historic Bluecoat building has been restored and converted into a centre for charities and voluntary organisations in the heart of Chester. Together, the Bluecoat-based organisations provide training, advice, support and assistance to people across the Cheshire area.
The 300-year-old building includes office space, which is available for rent by charities or voluntary organisations, and meeting rooms, which can be hired by businesses or non-profit organisations.
The Bluecoat is owned by, and home to, The Chester Bluecoat Charity which works to improve the lives of people in need throughout the city.
Other organisations based at the Bluecoat include Citizens Advice Cheshire West, Cheshire West Voluntary Action, Work Zone, Access2Learn, Vision Support, Cheshire & Warrington Carers Trust, Chester Talking Newspaper, Chester Aid to the Homeless and the West Cheshire Autism Hub.

Meeting Room Hire
Whether you’re planning a small meeting or a large conference we have the ideal space for you.
We have two meetings rooms – our Conference Room and Oak Room – which organisations and businesses from any sector can hire for a half day or full day.
Due to the current Coronavirus situation, we request that all meetings are socially distanced and this may therefore affect our normal seating capacities. If you would like to discuss further, please telephone 01244 403277 or email: email@example.com
The larger of the two meeting rooms, on the first floor, enjoys views of the Welsh hills.
It can accommodate up to 20 people (boardroom style), 30 (cabaret), 50 (theatre) or 70 (informal mix of seating and standing). But if you’re looking for an alternative layout, please ask. (Please note, until social-distancing measures are over, seating capacity will be reduced).
The room is perfect for your conference or event, with a range of layout options for you to choose from. Extra features include a projector and screen, blackout blinds, flipchart and pens, lectern and hearing loop.
You’ll also have the use of an en suite kitchen (with an instant hot water machine) and a breakout room, while a lift provides access from the ground floor.
Prices start from £60.
The Oak Room
This beautiful, oak-panelled room is ideal for smaller meetings. Located on the ground floor, it’s fully accessible and offers extra features including a flipchart and pens, hot water flasks and mugs.
The Oak Room can accommodate up to 12 people (boardroom style) or 20 (informal), and prices start from £35. (Please note, until social distancing measures have ceased, maximum capacity of meeting rooms will be reduced).
