The Chester Bluecoat Charity is delighted to be providing support to a new and exciting initiative, The Greenway Grocer. The Charity’s recent grant of over £5,000 has helped towards the launch of this innovative, new food project which aims to bring affordable – as well as accessible – fruit and vegetables to the communities who need it most up and down the Greenway in Chester.
The project will use an e-cargo bike to deliver fruit and vegetables to local venues in communities that don’t have a greengrocer in their area. Charges will be made ‘by the item’ rather than weight, making it simple for people to know what they can afford and help to prevent food waste.
The Chester Bluecoat Charity is very pleased to be part of this innovative project led by The Crossroads Community Hub to bring fresh, affordable, healthy and locally sourced food to urban areas in Chester.
