We are incredibly grateful to a team of volunteers from NatWest’s Chester branch who generously dedicated a day to The Bluecoat recently.
The enthusiastic and passionate team of 11 helped with various jobs, including painting, path clearance and gardening, which enhances and helps protect both the Grade II listed building and almshouse courtyard tucked behind it.
The work carried out not only saved the charity vital funds and improved the building’s beautiful appearance, it also made the site more accessible to the almshouse residents as some of the paths had become unusable over Winter.
We are extremely thankful to the NatWest team for donating their time to us and are delighted they too benefitted from it by finding their time here rewarding. One volunteer commented “We all really enjoyed the day, it was nice for us to get out of the office for a few hours and I know how much my colleagues enjoyed hearing about the work that the Bluecoat does for the local community.”
The volunteer day brought a real sense of community to The Bluecoat as the NatWest team met and integrated with the charity’s staff and the almshouse residents. They kindly said “We are incredibly proud to work alongside a fantastic organisation such as yours, and you should all be proud of the work you do as well.” We look forward to welcoming them back again later in the year!
Corporate volunteering at The Chester Bluecoat Charity is an excellent way for companies to support our work and the local communities. It is a great opportunity for staff to feel rewarded and connect as a team.
